Food Technology Program (Gıda Teknolojisi Programı)

Food Technology Program was opened in 2000-2001 Academic year to receive students at Altıntaş Vocational School.

Scope and aim of Program:

The Food Technology Program is a branch of technology that manufactures raw materials based on agriculture and animal husbandry by applying modern technologies and performs the necessary control services in order to ensure safe food production and produces food products suitable for consumption.

The aim of the Food Technology Program is to train intermediate staff with the necessary knowledge about adapting developing food science and food processing techniques to the food industry and making these techniques widespread. In the food industry, there is a need for graduates with laboratory knowledge and skills who are involved in the interpretation of results and which are responsible for the production of foods in accordance with health conditions. The fundamental purposes of Food Industry Program are to supply reliable and successful personnel to food industry and to transfer necessary knowledge, skill and experiment.

Career Opportunities

Graduates can work in every branch of food industry both in production and laboratory departments. Career opportunities are available in Government agencies like The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Ministry of Forestry Control Laboratories, Hygiene Institutes, Provincial Health Directorates. In private sector, there is a wide working area is exist and also graduates can establish their own business.

Transition to Senior Programs:

Graduates who are successful in the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS) conducted by ÖSYM can continue related undergraduate program.
